Cut the Cravings

It’s time to cut the cravings!

Can you have the occasional treat? That depends. For some people, certain foods can hijack the brain’s reward center and leave them craving for more.

Certain food can be addictive which make you crave them more. There are plenty of studies on this subject from qualified scientists and doctors that are worth investigating if you find the urge to do so. Read about one of the scientific backings here.

Here are the top 10 most addicting foods…

  1. Pizza
  2. Chocolate
  3. Chips
  4. Cookies
  5. Ice Cream
  6. French Fries
  7. Cheeseburger
  8. Non-diet soda
  9. Cake
  10. Cheese

Just reading some of these can make your mouth water and crave them!

We live in a society that is full of processed artificial junk food which is considered the norm. There is so much information at our fingertips that we intuitively do know what we need to do to become healthy. So, why are we still trying to find the quick fix, stuck on yo-yo dieting, or just can’t seem to cut the cravings?

Obviously, we cannot rely on food companies to create processed food that removes the addictive food additives. Where’s the profit in that?

Ask yourself these questions:

  • How can I stop the cravings?
  • Which cravings are unhealthy for my unique body?
  • Do I WANT to stop the cravings?
  • Why am I craving this?

Other questions to consider:

  • Why do we even get our children started on the very same food that we crave? To create yet another generation of yo-yo dieting.
  • Will our children want to stop the unhealthy cravings through quick fixes and yo-yo dieting when they grow up also. Or end up with the same aches, pains, and diseases?
  • Will our children stop the cycle of making poor choices that create the same diseases that have been in their family for generations or can we stop it before they have to?
  • Do you want to stop the cycle?

It comes down to our beliefs and mindsets that keep us stuck. We must have the desire to do the work that it takes to cut the cravings first. Then it’s important to find the why by exploring the emotional side of our cravings, which then makes the ‘how to’ tackle them a little bit easier to attain.

Just imagine finally feeling good again! Not feeling so bloated, fatigued, bothered so much with headaches, and other aches.

Through my personal journey, I’ve been able to cut the chemicals, toss the toxins, and create new healthier cravings. I’m far from perfect, but I don’t crave as much of the processed artificial junk food that I once did.

I still struggle with feeding my child healthy food. He wants what everyone else has. I will often give him a healthier version of what everyone else has when I can, but it’s far from being anywhere near perfect.

Nobody is perfect and it does take small steps to cut the cravings, but it’s possible with support and guidance!

We hear it all the time, to allow ourselves a “treat” once and awhile. However, what if that once and awhile “treat” is what is keeping us from attaining our goals? Don’t let harmful habits, addictions, and/or cravings get the best of you! Give your tastebuds a chance to change.
